「2024年は、ほぼあらゆる指標において、紛争の影響を受けた子どもの数と、彼らの生活への影響の度合いという両方の観点から見て、紛争下にある子どもたちにとってユニセフの歴史上最悪の年の一つとなりました。紛争地域で育つ子どもたちは、平和な場所で暮らす子どもたちと比べて、学校に通えない、栄養不良状態になる、あるいは家を追われる可能性がはるかに高く、しかも、その状況が繰り返し起こることが多いのです。これは決してニューノーマル（新たな日常）であってはなりません。子どもたちが、世界の無秩序な戦争の巻き添え被害を受ける世代となることを許してはなりません」
“The year 2024 has been one of the worst in UNICEF’s history for children affected by conflict, both in terms of the number of children impacted and the severity of the effects on their lives across nearly every indicator. Children growing up in conflict zones are far more likely to be out of school, suffer from malnutrition, or be displaced from their homes compared to those living in peaceful areas — and these hardships are often repeated. This must never become the ‘new normal.’ We must not allow a generation of children to become collateral damage of the world’s chaotic wars.”
